Responsibilities

  • Continuously improve product quality and manufacturing processes; support production teams to troubleshoot production batches of coatings and sealants.
  • Lead RCCA analysis using statistical quality tools and corrective action implementation with cross-functional teams.
  • Create, maintain, and revise process flow diagrams; lead PFMEA sessions with teams to develop and implement control plans consistent with AS9100 requirements.
  • Reduce costs by improving cycle times, first pass yield, and scrap rates using Global quality tools.
  • Train staff on quality improvement topics; communicate with customers and support new product qualifications and special projects.
  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies and manage customer complaints; monitor quality performance data and SOPs.
  • Ensure flow down of program and regulatory quality requirements across engineering, procurement, production, and sustainment processes.

Quality Engineer - Aerospace Materials

Shelby, NC

As the Quality Engineer - Aerospace Materials you will support the development, manufacturing, and sustainment of sealants, coatings, and adhesives product lines at the Shelby site. This role is a part of the Shelby Quality Organization and provides subject matter expertise in quality sciences to drive compliance and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle. Through your duties as a Quality Engineer, you will interface with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and S&T teams. In addition, in this role you will also interact with customers and suppliers, to ensure product and process integrity from design through delivery and sustainment.

This is an On-site role reporting to the Shelby, NC facility. In this role you will report to the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Continuously improving product quality and manufacturing processes, support production team to troubleshoot production batches of coatings and sealants to ensure FTQ
  • Lead RCCA analysis using statistical quality tools and corrective action implementation with cross functional teams
  • Create, Maintain and Revise Process Flow Diagrams, Lead and facilitate cross-functional PFMEA sessions with Engineering, Manufacturing, and operations team. Develop, implement, and maintain Control plans for all product families and manufacturing processes in accordance with AS9100 requirements.
  • Cost savings for the plant by reducing cycle time, improving first pass yield, and reducing scrap using Global quality tools.
  • Provide training on quality improvement topics, communicate with internal/ external customers, support new product qualifications and special projects
  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies, manage customer complaints, and monitor quality performance data, and Quality SOP's.
  • Be the subject matter expert for Quality training, review Quality training effectiveness
  • Ensure flow down of program and regulatory quality requirements across engineering, procurement, production, and sustainment processes.
  • Drive closure and accountability for NCMRs, Customer Complaints, SQARs, CARs, MRB, MOC, and audit findings.
  • Collaborate with S&T on batch ticket review, analyze technical documentation, and manufacturing data.
