Full Job Description
This position is responsible for quality control and safety management on construction projects, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, conducting inspections, coordinating testing, managing documentation, and promoting a safe, efficient work environment.

This position is located in West Point, NY.

SES Electrical LLC performs work throughout the continental United States. The ideal candidate is located in or near West Point, NY but is willing and able to travel for work on future projects.

The salary range for this position is $120,000-$140,000 annually

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Develop and administer the Quality Control Plan for the project (following Army Corps Three Phases of Control).
  • Certify that all submittals are in compliance with contract requirements.
  • Review plans and specifications to ensure requirements are met for each construction process.
  • Provide documented evaluations, assessments, and CQC assistance to staff and subcontractor personnel.
  • Review all catalog cuts and material submittals for compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Ensure all water, soil, materials, and mechanical systems testing are conducted by approved personnel and/or approved testing facilities.
  • Distribute written inspection/test results to appropriate agencies.
  • Ensure effective and timely preventive and corrective actions are taken and recurrence of problems are eliminated or minimized.
  • Maintain and submit hazardous material reports to government environmental office.
  • Conduct pre-final inspections/establish punch list if required/ensure all deficiencies are corrected.
  • Coordinate and conduct final inspections with government contracting and civil engineer personnel.
  • Submit as-builts on finished projects.
  • Responsible for safety management of the project.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standardized Safety Programs.
  • Conduct site-specific safety orientation.
  • Coordinate, develop, and/or conduct weekly safety meeting.
  • Survey construction projects to identify and evaluate physical conditions, safety practices, hazardous situations and compliance with established safety standards.
  • Review history of accidents and claims and prepares reports and recommendations as required.
  • Coordinate safety of the projects as a whole schedule, loss history, upcoming activities, etc., and provides stimulus for proactive loss control efforts.
  • Conduct accident investigations and provide recommendations for corrective/preventive action.
  • Interface with existing company safety professionals to direct and improve the effectiveness of safety standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Review subcontractor safety program to ensure compliance with projects safety standards.
  • Assure the proper level of training for subcontractors.
  • Assure the proper use of productive equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • 5 years of experience in construction management
  • QCM-C certification
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Experience managing USACE (United States Army Core of Engineers) projects
  • Proven experience as a QC/SSHO on similar federal projects
  • In-depth knowledge of quality control procedures and legal standards
  • Expertise with safety regulations and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Effective communication and training skills
  • Experience with Procore and RMS
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, and PDF


Preferred Qualifications:
  • American Society for Healthcare Engineering (AHSE) Healthcare Construction Certificate (HCC) or the American Hospital Association's (AHA) Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) Certification
  • 5 years of experience in construction management of healthcare facilities


Additional Qualifying Factors:

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.

Working Conditions

Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
