Quality Manager - A&E Group

The Challenge:
We are seeking a talented senior Quality Manager with current design experience to support the management of the A-E Group's quality program while continuing to perform production duties on key projects. The role is responsible for ensuring that project documents adhere to our contractual requirements, applicable codes, and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams addressing quality challenges through project reviews, mentoring, and training.

Principle Areas of Responsibility:
The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control program for exp Federal's projects. This role reviews and documents compliance with company standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence. In addition to design duties in specified discipline perform the following duties:
  • Quality Program Management: Maintain, update and enforce the company's QA/QC plan across all projects. Review project documents and specifications for compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and client requirements. Participate in design reviews at designated milestones.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate the origins of design defects and construction Requests For Information (RFI) and recommend corrective or preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
  • Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Coordinate efforts of design teams, project managers, and subconsultants to resolve quality issues early in the project lifecycle.
  • Team Development: Communicate quality requirements to internal teams and external partners.
  • Travels onsite to project fields for client meetings and site inspections and visits: ~25% requirement

Basic Qualifications:
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Civil, Mechanical, Structural or Electrical Engineering required.
  • Professional Licensure required - Registered Architect or Professional Engineer
  • Experience: minimum 10 years' experience in degree discipline with a role involving QA/QC oversight
  • On site construction experience working with design team and Contractors.
  • Building science or Building Envelope detailing experience a plus.
  • Work Environment: Predominantly works in an office environment but also requires the ability to travel for short durations to visit project sites or conduct office visits.
  • Additional Requirement: Ability to obtain a Security Clearance.


Salary Base:

This full-time position as a Licensed Professional with Quality Manager duties is a level IV or above and has an annual base range of $142,000 to $185,000. This position is eligible for overtime in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements. The actual hourly rate is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
