Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Quality Construction Manager (QCM) to join our growing team for an immediate assignment supporting a major federal construction project in the Chicago, Illinois area. This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated construction professional who takes pride in delivering projects safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will serve as the Quality Control Manager responsible for implementing and managing the project's Contractor Quality Control (CQC) Program while working closely with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, and government representatives.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage the project Quality Control Plan.

Conduct Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-Up inspections in accordance with USACE/NAVFAC Three-Phase Control procedures.

Ensure all construction activities comply with contract documents, specifications, drawings, and applicable codes.

Coordinate inspections with Government Quality Assurance Representatives.

Maintain quality documentation including daily reports, submittal logs, inspection reports, testing documentation, and deficiency tracking.

Review RFIs, submittals, and change documentation for quality impacts.

Lead quality meetings with project staff and subcontractors.

Verify corrective actions are completed promptly and effectively.

Support project scheduling by ensuring inspections and testing activities are properly coordinated.

Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the project.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of commercial, institutional, or federal construction experience.

At least 5 years serving as a Quality Control Manager or Quality Construction Manager on projects of similar size and complexity.

Thorough understanding of federal construction quality management requirements.

Experience managing construction quality documentation and inspection programs.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software (Procore experience preferred).

Current USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM-C) for Contractors Certification.

Experience with USACE, NAVFAC, VA, GSA, or other Federal Agencies.

OSHA 30-Hour Certification.

EM 385-1-1 knowledge and experience.

Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field is preferred.
