Job description
The Quality & Compliance Team Lead would support the MRO facility in Ajax and corresponding supply chain. This role is responsible for leading quality assurance activities related the overhaul and repair of landing gear systems and components. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory and Safran standards, manage operation quality & supplier quality including onboarding, supplier validation and lead robust root cause corrective action (RCCA) activities to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Quality Leadership & Compliance
• Lead and mentor a team of quality specialists and quality coordinator
• Ensure compliance with:
o AS9100 and Safran Quality Management System (SQMS)
o TCCA CAR 573/571, CAAC (Ajax MRO), FAA/EASA/UK CAA regulations (Suppliers)
o Customer Quality requirements
• Support quality oversight of landing gear overhaul and component repair activities (QRQC, Monthly audits, FOD compliance, PCD reviews and compliance, Certification/training management)
• Monitor and drive key quality KPIs (Customer and supplier quality escapes, audit readiness & findings, TAT impact)
• Assist PRM in maintaining regulatory approvals for the shop (e.g., TCCA, CAAC) and support the acquisition of new certifications for MRO operations
Supplier Quality & Onboarding
• Manage supplier lifecycle: qualification, onboarding, and Quality performance monitoring
• Maintain Approved Supplier List (ASL) in accordance with MRO specific procedures
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments
• Lead supplier quality performance reviews and corrective action follow-up
RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action)
• Support team members to drive investigations into non-conformances, supplier issues, and customer complaints
• Apply structured methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, FMEA)
• Ensure effective containment, corrective, and preventive actions
• Validate effectiveness and prevent recurrence of issues
• Interface with various support functions within the department as required
Audit & Regulatory Interface
• Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits (TCCA, CAAC)
• Act as focal point during inspections and audits
• Ensure timely closure of findings with robust RCCA
Candidate skills & requirements
• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related field OR equivalent technical education with relevant experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace industry or manufacturing environment
• Experience in MRO or repair station environment strongly preferred
• Experience with supplier quality management, audits and approval process
• Strong background in RCCA and audit management
• Knowledge of AS9100 Standards, TCCA/FAA/EASA/CAAC regulations
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and continuous improvement mindset
• Leadership and team development experience is preferred
Salary: $90,500 to $113,000
