Full Job Description
RSi is looking to fill a Quality Assurance Specialist 3 - Engineering Technician IV (SCA LCAT 30084)position to support our NASA customer on the Safety, Mission Assurance Engineering Contract (SMAEC). The Quality Assurance Specialist supports the development of the EVA Suit for lunar activity.

Summary of duties include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct detailed inspections, audits, and evaluations to ensure compliance with technical requirements, regulations, and quality management systems.
  • Perform advanced, hands-on quality assurance activities for hardware or software across all phases of the critical system life cycle, including design, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and operations.
  • Investigate complex quality issues using a wide range of analytical methods; identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to ensure proper controls are maintained throughout critical processes.
  • Maintain documentation, reporting, and tracking of nonconformances, corrective actions, and continuous-improvement efforts.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to junior QA personnel; contribute to process improvements and best-practice development.
  • Report progress, risks, and quality challenges to supervisor or manager.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and functional programs to plan and execute complex assignments.


Required Minimum Education/Experience/Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Min 5 years of education or experience in inspection or related field
  • PC Literate
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret verbal and written instructions
  • Proficiency operating test and measurement equipment and tools
  • Knowledge of inspection techniques and methods required to support processing
  • Must be a team player and able to work well with a variety of disciplines
  • Experience in avionics and/or hardware/software integration, or process controls
  • Previous experience with NASA quality inspections
  • Familiarity with manufacturing/test, functions, and ability to interpret drawings


Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/IT Skills/Certifications:

  • Experience supporting quality assurance in highly regulated or mission-critical environments
  • Advanced knowledge of auditing techniques, inspection methods, and quality system compliance
  • Background investigating and resolving complex quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and testing teams

Work Environment:
  • Work is performed in a combination of office, laboratory, and manufacturing/production floor settings
  • Occasional exposure to noise, fumes, or machinery typical of a manufacturing or test environment.
  • Telework is available based on Customer's needs

Physical Environment/Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):
  • Role involves periods of standing, walking, or performing manual inspection tasks, along with desk-based documentation and reporting.
  • Light lifting (typically up to 20 pounds)

Other: Favorable determination of background checks and verifications to include education verification and past employment, NASA NAC or any other required for program access. NASA requires a Public Trust background investigation that is conducted during employment
