Authority:

  • Make quality decisions for the better interest of the company.
  • Authority to halt production.
  • Lead and supervise quality assurance and quality control personnel.


Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements quality control procedures
  • Provides support and guidance to team members to ensure effective performance.
  • Oversees audit schedule and ensures audits are conducted on a time manner.
  • Conducts management review meetings.
  • Determines training needs as applicable.
  • Coordinates with other departments to resolve quality issues.
  • Constantly looking into continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures that the integrity of the quality management system is maintained.
  • Ensures the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization.
  • Reports on the performance of the quality management system and on opportunities for improvement, in particular to top management.
  • Ensures that the processes are delivering their intended outputs.
  • Ensures the quality management system conforms to the requirements of internal, contractual, regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation..
  • Negotiates system specification changes and modifications with customers to reduce involvement and cost
  • Lead communication and resolution of quality related issues with customers

Activities:

  • Lead and manage the quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of safety and precision in aerospace components.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of quality management systems in accordance with aerospace industry standards and regulations, such as AS9100.
  • Conduct rigorous inspections and audits of aerospace components, ensuring compliance with design specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage and mentor a team of quality professionals and inspectors providing guidance on quality procedures, aerospace regulations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and other cross-functional teams to integrate quality control measures seamlessly into the manufacturing process.
  • Stay abreast of changes in aerospace regulations and certifications, ensuring the companys
  • adherence to all applicable standards.
  • Utilize statistical tools and data analysis techniques to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement in the quality control process.
  • Implement and oversee corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformities and prevent recurrence, fostering a proactive approach to quality management.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of quality procedures, inspection results, and compliance records to demonstrate adherence to industry standards.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure that the quality and inspection team is well- equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to maintain aerospace quality and inspection standards.
  • Reviews and approves manufacturing documentation for accuracy and compliance to customer requirements and makes determination for in-process inspection, final inspection/controls, and government/customer source inspection points.


Qualifications Guidelines:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, quality, management, or related experience preferred. related experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years experience in a decision making position.
  • Substantial experience in a machined parts manufacturing environment (Aerospace Preferred).
  • ANSI Y14.5 GD&T expert, including development of inspection techniques.
  • Basic understanding of special processes such as coatings, platings, thermal processing, and nondestructive testing.
  • Familiarity with lathes and mills.

Pay Range: $100k to $115k/ annual

Note: The salary range is applicable to employees working in California only. The pay range represents the low and high end of the salary range we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on several factors contributing to the actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, education, training, and other qualifications.
