Full Job Description
The Navy Array Technical Support Center (NATSC) is the depot-level repair activity for US Navy surface ship and submarine towed sonar arrays. It is a Government Owned-Contractor Operated (GOCO) facility located at the Navy Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, and Naval Station Newport, in Newport RI. The successful candidate will be the Quality Manager of the NATSC towed array depot leading a group of non-exempt inspectors to meet mission and fleet objectives.

The Quality Assurance Manager will:
  • Provide Towed Array Depot Quality Assurance oversight and direction to a team of inspectors.
  • Monitor operation's adherence to NATSC processes and procedures for all Towed Array program and product lines.
  • Oversee the evaluation/inspection of work performed in accordance with Government generated Work Instructions, drawings, specifications, ECPs and other approved guidance.
  • Develop/review and implement quality plans/procedures in compliance with government Quality Operating Policy and Procedures (QOP) as per contract.
  • Oversee Quality Assurance personnel in recruiting, retention, training, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.


Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and 5+ years or master's with 3+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of experience within a Quality Assurance group supporting a depot repair and/or manufacturing environment with experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 quality standards and their application to quality management programs
  • Ability to obtain and retain a US DOD security clearance at the SECRET level.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hold an active US DOD security clearance at the SECRET level.
  • Five or more years prior experience in a leadership position in US Government DOD projects and direct liaison with Government customers.
  • Prior experience in direct liaison with Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport on matters related to towed array systems.
  • Prior experience using NDA (NATSC Depot Application), TAMS (Towed Asset Management System), and/or CMPro (Process/Document Management System.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00
