Quality Assurance Manager

Department: Manufacturing / Operations / Quality

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: US - Wisconsin - Madison

Reporting To: Brian Green

Description

Responsible for the quality management of the Energy business segment. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing quality control programs designed to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
• Formulates and maintains quality control objectives.
• Coordinates quality objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
• Directs employees engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
• Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability.
• Investigates and resolves customer complaints.
• Outlines product deficiencies and suggests corrections. Tracks corrective actions until discrepancies are resolved.
• Reviews all product analysis from the various departments to determine the existence of any quality problems.
• Follows incoming inspection requirements as needed.
• Coordinates quality system non-conformance issues with the appropriate manufacturing department personnel and/or suppliers to achieve acceptable resolution.
• Evaluates and supervises assigned customer complaints. Works with the appropriate department personnel to resolve the complaint.
• Conducts FMEA and PFMEA in support of new designs and/or continuous improvement projects.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervises non-supervisory employee(s).
• Interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Working with Human Resources on employee issues.

• Uses complex and noncomplex machines and equipment.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related technical field (required).
• Five or more years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, performance testing, or a related field (preferred).
• Three years of supervisory experience (required).
• 5 years of experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean, and Operational Excellence (preferred).
