Role Purpose

The QA Engineering Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day quality engineering operations and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards. This role provides oversight of quality engineers and technicians while maintaining ownership of core quality management system (QMS) elements, customer quality interactions, and metrology operations. The position plays a critical role in driving operational performance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Scope & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Perform assigned duties in accordance with documented procedures and work instructions

Quality Engineering & Daily Operations
  • Lead day-to-day quality engineering activities supporting production, inspections, and issue resolution
  • Manage grid metrology operations including equipment oversight, calibration coordination, and measurement system integrity
  • Ensure effective use of quality systems (QCBD or equivalent) for NCMR, CAPA, document control, and traceability
  • Support MRB activities and disposition of nonconforming material

Customer Quality & Complaint Handling
  • Act as primary liaison for customer quality issues including RMAs and complaints
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, CAR, etc.)
  • Participate in customer calls and ensuretimelyfollow-up on quality issues
  • Respond to customer questionnaires, surveys, and technical requests in coordination with internal teams

Regulatory & Compliance
  • Support compliance with ISO9001 / AS9100 standards andmaintainaudit readiness
  • Assistwith customer and regulatory audits including preparation and closure of findings
  • Support FAR/DFARS and CMMC requirements in partnership with leadership and IT
  • Review and approve change management related to quality systems and processes

Supplier Quality
  • Address supplier quality issues andmonitorsupplier performance metrics
  • Partner with supply chain to drive supplier improvement and compliance

Performance Management & Reporting
  • Track and report KPIs including RMA, OTD, audit findings, and customer satisfaction
  • Support monthly reporting and management review processes
  • Drive continuous improvement based on data analysis and trends

Leadership & Team Development
  • Manage and develop quality engineers and technicians
  • Provide coaching, prioritization, and direction aligned with business needs
  • Promote a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and continuous improvement


Work Experience & Skills

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field

Experience: 5-8 years of experience in quality or manufacturing engineering; experience in ISO9001 / AS9100 environments; experience with RMAs and corrective actions

Skills / Knowledge: Strong analytical and technical aptitude; knowledge of statistical methods; familiarity with metrology and calibration systems; knowledge of FAR/DFARS, CMMC or NIST 800-171 preferred; proficiency in quality systems

Personal Attributes: Strong leadership; excellent communication; ability to manage multiple priorities; strong problem-solving mindset
