JOB SUMMARY:The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and compatibility of custom-developed applications and systems within the firm's Application Development group. This position designs and executes manual and automated testing processes across the software development lifecycle to identify defects, validate functionality, and support the successful, reliable delivery of software solutions used throughout the firm.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Develops and executes test plans, test cases, and test scripts for custom-developed applications, integrations, and system enhancements.
- Performs functional, regression, integration, and compatibility testing across web, desktop, and mobile platforms to confirm that custom applications perform reliably across supported browsers, operating systems, and devices.
- Designs, builds, and maintains automated test scripts and testing frameworks to improve testing efficiency, coverage, and repeatability.
- Identifies, documents, and tracks software defects using Azure DevOps; works closely with developers to reproduce, troubleshoot, and verify the resolution of issues.
- Reviews business and technical requirements to develop test strategies that validate application functionality against defined specifications.
- Participates in the software development lifecycle, providing quality assurance input during requirements, design, development, and deployment phases.
- Conducts compatibility testing for new releases of firm applications, third-party software, and system upgrades to identify potential conflicts prior to deployment.
- Maintains detailed documentation of test results, defect logs, and testing metrics; communicates testing status and risk to the Application Development team and other stakeholders.
- Collaborates with developers, business analysts, and end users to understand application functionality and ensure quality standards are met prior to release.
- Evaluates and recommends improvements to testing tools, processes, and methodologies, and stays current on quality assurance best practices and industry trends.
- Takes on additional tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, and a minimum of six (6+) years of relevant work experience in software quality assurance/testing, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum of two (2+) years of experience writing and maintaining automated test scripts using tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
- Experience performing compatibility testing across multiple browsers, operating systems, and devices, as well as manual and regression testing of custom applications.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar defect-tracking and test management tools, and a working knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
- Highly proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel as well as basic computer and database management skills.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate work flow and project updates.
- Strong time management, prioritization, problem-solving, and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a high pressure environment.

In this typical office setting, an employee will encounter standard office equipment and any noise associated with that equipment. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
