Position Summary
The QA Analyst is a self-starter who learns quickly and is willing to jump into any task, even those where they have basic or no knowledge of the area. As a more seasoned tester, the candidate will be able to work independently with minimal guidance and direction, be able to write and execute more complex tests, and provide more detailed feedback on not only the quality of the product but also its usability and design.
Essential Functions
- Write detailed test cases for both enhancements and bugs
- Execute test cases written by themselves or others on local machines and emulated environments
- Compare test results across a variety of environments and platforms
- Interpret test execution results when they vary from expectations, to determine if a bug exists
- Log defects and suggested enhancements in our bug tracking system (Jira), providing detailed steps for bugs and well-reasoned justification for suggested improvements
- Create test data manually and via tools such as Postman
- Execute API tests using tools such as Postman
- Become familiar with the system using a variety of methods: Training, hands-on experience, and documentation
- Execute queries against SQL and Multivalue (MV) databases
- Work independently against multiple priorities and deadlines
- Review logs in applications such as Graylog and Sentry to confirm the system is functioning as expected
- Perform after-hours production validation as needed

Qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in a related field; a Computer Science degree is preferred but not required
- Minimum 3 years' experience in manual and/or API software testing
- Deep knowledge of the software development lifecycle and both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Minimum 3 years' experience testing with SQL or multivalue databases
- Experience with executing a variety of tests: functional, integration, system, sanity, etc
- Mortgage industry experience preferred
