Job Description

Leads and manages plant Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QEHS) programs to ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and company standards. Drives a culture of safety, product quality, and continuous improvement while supporting efficient manufacturing operations.

 

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

Safety & Environmental (EHS)

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations; maintain required reporting and logs
  • Lead safety programs, audits, investigations, and corrective actions
  • Manage safety training, Job Hazard Analyses, and LOTO procedures
  • Chair safety committee and drive incident prevention initiatives

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Oversee quality systems, audits, and daily verification activities
  • Manage product holds, releases, nonconformances, and customer complaints
  • Analyze quality data, track trends, and lead continuous improvement efforts
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications and regulatory standards

Food Safety & Regulatory Programs

  • Administer SQF, HACCP, GMP, and food safety programs
  • Support audits (customer, third-party, regulatory) as site lead
  • Ensure sanitation, pest control, and environmental testing compliance
  • Lead traceability and recall readiness, including mock recalls

Training & Procedures

  • Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs and training programs
  • Ensure workforce compliance with QEHS procedures and certifications

Customer & Supplier Interface

  • Act as primary QEHS contact for customers and auditors
  • Support product launches, specifications, and documentation updates
  • Manage supplier quality, raw material compliance, and corrective actions

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes
  • Support and lead operational excellence initiatives (e.g., safety and quality pillars)
  • Promote data-driven decision-making and process improvements

What We Need From You:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) or
  • 5+ years of QEHS or quality management experience in manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, food safety systems, and quality standards
  • Proven leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
