ABOUT THE ROLE

The Quality Control & Commissioning Manager C&I is responsible to lead startup and commissioning activities for mission-critical projects. This role ensures electrical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in alignment with design intent, client requirements, and industry standards, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and zero operational failure.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and execute commissioning and startup strategies aligned with project schedules
  • Lead electrical QA/QC programs, inspections, and system turnover processes
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, owners, and third-party commissioning agents
  • Manage vendors for critical equipment (switchgear, UPS, generators, ATS/STS, etc.)
  • Oversee startup, energization, and functional testing of electrical systems
  • Lead integrated systems testing (IST), including failure mode and redundancy validation
  • Monitor installation quality and lead pre-functional inspections
  • Manage commissioning documentation, reporting, and final turnover packages
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards (NFPA 70E, OSHA, ESAFE and industry codes
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for commissioning-related activities
  • Identify risks, drive issue resolution, and maintain project schedule alignment
  • Success Measures:
    • Zero safety incidents during commissioning activities
    • On-time completion of commissioning milestones
    • Minimal punch list items at turnover
    • Successful integrated systems testing with no critical failures
  • Full compliance with client performance and reliability standards
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical construction, commissioning or IST (Integrated System Testing)
  • 7+ years of experience with mission-critical or data center projects required
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution and backup systems (UPS, generators)
  • Comprehensive expertise in data center reliability and redundancy solutions, including UPS systems, backup generation, power distribution, cooling infrastructure and business continuity strategies
  • 7+ years of experience with BMS, EPMS, and SCADA platforms
  • Comprehensive expertise in NETA testing standards and commissioning best practices


Preferred Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field; equivalent combination of education and training considered in lieu of degree
  • Preferred certifications
  • Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP)
  • NETA Level III or IV
  • OSHA 30/70 and NFPA 70E


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution and backup systems (UPS, generators)
  • Demonstrated expertise in mission-critical infrastructure including redundancy architectures, power distribution systems, backup generation, UPS systems and cooling equipment required to maintain continuous operations
  • Extensive knowledge of construction markets and business sector
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead a team in highly professional proposals and presentations
  • Ability to establish departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization
