Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support quality control activities across all works performed by Jamar and its partners.
  • Uphold all safety, environmental, and quality standards during all work processes.
  • Perform ASME design calculations for crucial piping and pressure vessels.
  • Inspect welding activities for compliance with industry codes and standards.
  • Facilitate quality inspections by collaborating with contractors and engineers during key project phases.
  • Oversee nondestructive examination (NDE) inspections and review relevant documentation.

QA/QC Supervisor at Jamar, you9re not just verifying outcomes-you9re shaping them in real time, out in the field where precision is earned, not assumed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
To successfully perform this role, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Supervise and support quality control activities for projects, as needed, across all work performed by Jamar or in collaboration with other APi Group companies.
  • Uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards in all aspects of work.
  • Perform ASME design calculations for piping, boilers, and pressure vessels.
  • Inspect welding activities to ensure compliance with AWS, ASME, and applicable codes, including verification of procedures, welder certifications, and material traceability.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and plant personnel to facilitate timely and efficient quality inspections during construction, maintenance, and shutdowns.
  • Oversee nondestructive examination (NDE) inspections, including reviewing and approving associated documentation.
  • Conduct visual, dimensional, and NDE inspections to ensure alignment with project specifications.
  • Ensure products and workmanship meet or exceed established standards and specifications.
  • Communicate effectively across departments to support organizational goals, using strong interpersonal skills.
  • Direct NDE inspectors and other QA/QC personnel, as needed.
  • Review QA/QC and NDE inspection results, initiating or recommending corrective actions when necessary.
  • Audit and maintain welder continuity logs in coordination with the QA/QC Administrative Assistant.
  • Maintain an appropriate work pace to achieve both the quality and quantity of inspection and testing activities required; accommodate a flexible work schedule.
  • Travel to and work from job sites as needed to support quality control functions; track and document activities and compile required information for ASME-compliant packages.
  • Maintain thorough inspection records, prepare quality reports, and document Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required.
  • Participate in pre-job planning, QA/QC meetings, and audits to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the company professionally, both internally and externally, in alignment with company values and mission.
  • Actively engage in company programs, policies, and initiatives, including cross-company collaboration, sales and marketing support, lead sharing, and idea generation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

  • One (1) year or more of professional experience, with working knowledge of ASME Quality procedures as they relate to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC).
  • Working knowledge of nondestructive examination (NDE) practices, welding processes, and materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Understanding of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, and specifications, with the ability to read, interpret, and apply technical documents and symbols.
  • Experience in QA/QC on industrial projects, including power plants, utilities, outages, and retrofit work preferred.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification preferred.
  • Prior experience working in industrial environments and on active job sites preferred.

Other Details:

  • This position will office in Duluth, MN and requires the willingness and ability to travel 50-75% of the time to local and regional job sites.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver9s license.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The expected annual compensation range for this position is $71,800-$108,100. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
