Your role and responsibilities
As a
QA Engineer Lead - ALIP, you will focus on verifying that mainframe applications and systems function as intended. You will create test scenarios and cases, execute them to validate the system's compliance with the specified requirements.
This role serves as the primary onshore testing point of contact for business stakeholders, development teams, and offshore QE resources, ensuring testing aligns with business requirements, regulatory standards, and delivery commitments across the Life & Annuity Line of Business.
Your primary responsibilities will include:•
Develop Test Scenarios: Create comprehensive test scenarios and cases to ensure mainframe applications meet the necessary functionality and performance standards.

Execute Testing: Execute test scenarios and cases to validate the system's compliance with the specified requirements, utilizing character-based mainframe screens, navigation, datasets, JCL, SDSF, and utilities.

Validate System Compliance: Verify that mainframe applications and systems function as intended, identifying and reporting defects or discrepancies.
•
Ensure Functional Standards: Ensure that mainframe applications meet the necessary functionality and performance standards through rigorous testing and validation.
•
Optimize Testing Processes: Continuously evaluate and optimize testing processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Required technical and professional expertise
- 10+ years of software testing experience with at least 3 years in a Test Lead or Senior QE role
- Proven hands-on experience with ALIP (Accenture Life Insurance Platform) including policy administration, new business, billing, and financial transaction modules
- Deep domain knowledge of Life Insurance and Annuity products product structures, underwriting, policy lifecycle, claims, and regulatory requirements
- Experience leading onshore-offshore testing teams in a structured delivery environment
- Strong knowledge of UAT facilitation with business users in a Life & Annuity context
- Experience with Agile SAFe delivery methodologies and PI Planning
- Proficiency with test management tools Jira, qTest, Azure DevOps, or Zephyr
- Experience with defect management, test metrics, and executive-level reporting
- Familiarity with NAIC, state DOI, and SOX compliance testing requirements
- ISTQB Foundation or Advanced certification
- Experience with ALIP API testing and integration testing across downstream systems
- Exposure to test automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, RestAssured) in a Life Insurance context
- Mainframe Testing Experience: Experience with creating comprehensive test scenarios and cases to ensure mainframe applications meet necessary functionality and performance standards.
- Mainframe Tools Proficiency: Experience with utilizing character-based mainframe screens, navigation, datasets, JCL, SDSF, and utilities to execute testing and validate system compliance.
- Testing Process Optimization: Experience with continuously evaluating and optimizing testing processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Preferred technical and professional experience
Prior experience at USAA or Accenture is a plus

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
