Position OverviewWe are seeking a QA Automation Engineer to support database testing initiatives for a state-level client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing automated test scripts, executing test plans, and ensuring the integrity, performance, and reliability of database systems. This role involves close collaboration with development, database administration, and business teams.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop automated test scripts for database testing
- Define test priorities and create execution plans for automated scenarios
- Develop test plans, test cases, and prepare test environments
- Perform functional, regression, and performance testing on database systems
- Identify, document, and track defects and issues
- Collaborate with development and DBA teams to resolve defects
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems
- Monitor database performance and suggest improvements
- Maintain documentation for automated testing processes
- Work with stakeholders to gather and refine testing requirements
Required Skills & Experience- Minimum 8 years of experience designing automated test scripts for database testing
- Minimum 8 years of experience prioritizing test scenarios and creating execution plans
- Minimum 8 years of experience developing test plans, test cases, and test environments
- Minimum 8 years of experience performing functional, application, and regression testing
- Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and methodologies
- Ability to interpret requirement documents and update test documentation accordingly
- Strong experience in analysis, planning, and reporting functions
- Ability to quickly understand business processes in assigned areas
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work closely with stakeholders during testing cycles
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proven ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams while managing multiple tasks
Preferred Skills- At least 2 years of experience with State DIR Project Delivery Framework and templates
- Familiarity with enterprise information architecture and data management practices
- Understanding of software architecture and infrastructure components
