Full Job Description

ThePZOperationsSupervisoris responsible for overseeing daily operationand prioritizing maintenanceof the unit,ensuring the shift runs in a safe, environmentally responsible and efficient manner focused on meeting business team objectives. Thesupervisorshould coordinate communication between management,operations, and maintenanceon unit rates, equipment status, and inventory throughregularmeetingsandreports.This role isresponsible for the direction of4 Shift Team Leadsand 1Operations Maintenance Coordinator(direct reports)and Outside Operators(indirectreports)including performance management, training and development and daily coaching.

Accountability 1:Meet all SHE objectives and comply with all governmental laws and policies for a manufacturing site.

  • Responsible for the safety of the team above any other outcome, requiring and promoting compliance with the INEOS Life Saving Rules and the INEOS 20 Principles of Process and Behavioral Safety, and site policies/standards.

  • Ensure all operationsand maintenanceactivities are carried out in a manner compliant with site environmental permit requirements(reporting, tracking,sampling/testing performed,LDAR repair timing,etc)

  • Be a safety leaderthrough visible leadership in the field, includingsafetyobservationconversationsandaudits.

  • Adhere to the SHE management system established for the site including participation in reporting, incident investigations, sharing of lessons learned, corrective action tracking and personnel training in support ofincidentmanagementsystem.

  • Knowledgeable of the specificprocess andwork executionhazardswithin the assetto be able to plan work and communicate those hazards tooperationsand work executionteams.

  • Promotes and sponsors participation on safety programs and committeesfor site-wideinitiatives.

  • Continuously stimulates employees safety awareness.

  • Ensure the unit responds to incidents in a safe, timely/appropriate manner.

  • Serve as a resource for LOTO andSafe Work Permitting processincludingparticipation in job-specific JSA reviewsandapprovingsafety system bypass tags andany permit deviations within the asset.

  • Responsible for ensuringproper housekeeping and meeting AssetCare priorities for the unit.

  • Responsible for always putting safety ahead of production or maintenance.

  • Responsible for stopping work and/or initiating safe shutdown of asset if the situation warrants.

  • Manageasset compliance with process safety programs including completion of key operationsand maintenancechecks(car seal valve checklists, interlock function tests,relief valve testing,etc.) as well asoperator engagement (MOC acknowledgement, PHA participation,etc.)

  • Knowledgeable of the specific process and maintenance execution hazards within the unit to be able to plan work and communicate those hazards to execution forces.

  • Takes appropriate action to initiate proper safety reviews (e.g., temporary job plan, confined space, hot work, etc.) when reviewing the work scope.

Accountability 2:Development and Leadership of Team

  • Ensure thatoperations personnelaremanaged consistently across shifts anddifferentleaders to ensurestandards are met or exceeded via feedback, annualperformancereviews,proper accountability and coaching conversations.

  • Coach and mentor operatingleadership,individual team members or others to continuously improveoperations, developing a consistent, high-level of performance at thesite.

  • Responsible for ensuringoperationspersonnel time has been enteredand approvedby their respective managersprior to payroll processing.

  • Foster teamwork across the shiftsand with all other functional groups to ensure that activities are well-aligned with maximum impact.

  • Responsible fordeveloping, implementing, and improvingoperating procedures.

  • Initiates the annual procedure review processfor the asset including assignment of reviews to the team andupdatingto ensureproceduresare correct and completewithin compliance deadlines.

  • Ensures the work force has the tools necessary to perform their roles safely and efficiently by identifying and implementing training to address areas for improvement.

  • Works with site training resources to develop and implement an asset training strategyand individual employee training and development plans.

  • Ensure thatsitegoals and priorities are communicated tooperationspersonnel and establishcrew goals and buy in to support strategy.

  • Responsible forensuring compliancewithCollective Bargaining Agreement andgrievance procedurewithoperationspersonnel.AsUnion issues arise, works with HRtowards resolution.

  • Mentor operationspersonnelduring normal course of work through the use of problem solving, root cause analysis, and fact gathering.

Accountability 3:Fulfill assetoperationsand reliability performancerequirement.

  • Accountable for the overall operation of thePZasset- overseeprocess controlwithin design operating envelopes,monitoring and troubleshootingofprocess and equipment; reportsand follows up to resolveprocess deviations, equipment failures and hazards; assists in plant investigations and problem resolution.

  • Ensure that process systems are operated in accordance with safe operating procedures.

  • Ensures compliance with routine operations tasks such as operator rounds,routine sampling, etc and corrects or escalates as needed.

  • Oversee planned maintenance, projectexecutionand technical improvementactivitiesin the area.

  • Monitor status of mechanical integrity programs for the asset and coordinate work notifications as required to support these programs and ensure completion prior to due date. This may include but is not limited to:

  • Relief device testing and inspections

  • Pressure vessel and tank inspections

  • Completion of mechanical integrity inspection recommendations

  • Safety and environmental instrument calibration and testing

  • Routine preventative and predictive maintenance tasks (e.g., lubrication, vibration, filter changes, etc.).

  • Turbine over-speed testing and verification

  • Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) compliance

  • Asset Care Activities

  • Maintain and foster collaborative efforts with maintenance, reliability, engineering,HSES andother technical resource teams to identify, share, implement and maintain best practices.

  • Key contributorfor meetingbudget requirements by efficiently managing resources, inventories and raw materials.
