Full Job Description
Job Description

LBC11 Integration demands PVD processes that operate at nanometer precision: adding exactly the right material, at exactly the right process parameters, without disturbing localized films and area. At SMFAB in Sherman, these processes don't yet exist in production form. You will build them. As a PVD Process Development Engineer in TI's organization in Sherman, you will own the development, integration, and qualification of PVD for the LBC11 flows directly enabling TI's technology ramp from development to high-volume manufacturing. The Epi processes you develop will run on every wafer at SMFAB.

Responsibilities include:
  • Drive PVD process and device improvements through characterization, test, design of experiments, data analysis and simulation
  • Work with multiple process, integration, reliability, packaging and test engineers to achieve these goals
  • Work closely with the product groups to identify and optimize the performance to meet critical final device parameters to enable game changing products in the market.
  • Partner closely with vendors to bring industry changing improvement opportunities to SMFAB in the form of PPH, Improved Cycle Time, Process Stability, and/or Equipment/Process Uptime.

The person performing this role must be capable to plan effectively, drive schedules, meet critical deadlines on multiple tasks in parallel, lead technical discussions in their area of expertise, and work effectively across organizational boundaries. They must be able to clearly communicate project status and actions. Additionally, they must be able to interface with multiple organizations and work well on a diverse team to accomplish goals.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 5+ years in semiconductor wafer fabrication for advanced nodes
  • 3 years experience in PVD processing on AMAT platforms
  • 2 years experience leading cross-functional teams

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience developing new epi process modules from the ground up
  • Strong inline-to-end-of-line signal correlation and process characterization skills
  • Ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships across internal and external partners
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to ramp quickly on new systems and processes
