The Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing and supporting the procurement of inventory and non-inventory operational and food and beverage products, supplies, equipment, and services necessary for property operation

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for managing and supporting the procurement of inventory and non-inventory operational and food and beverage products, supplies, equipment, and services necessary for property operation
  • Identifies, evaluates and selects suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness and adherence to ethical and sustainability standards.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing, payment terms and mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Source and negotiate with potential suppliers, assess their capabilities and evaluate their suitability based on predefined criteria.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including regular communication, performance evaluations and issue resolution.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay updated on industry trends, supplier capabilities and pricing fluctuations.
  • Provide support and build internal customer relationships with property staff to include collaborating on procurement planning, drafting RFP documents, proposal review and evaluation, negotiation, and technical aspects of contract administration and compliance.
  • Supports and assists the Director/Head of Purchasing with the implementation of information systems to enhance procurement functions including development of associated policies, procedures, and performance metrics to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Implement sustainable and socially responsible strategic sourcing practices, including supporting local and diverse suppliers and promoting ethical sourcing.
  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing and sourcing activities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration or a related field and 5+ years of full-time administrative and/or professional level experience, 3 years of which were in a team management capacity. Equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may be considered.
  • Self-starter with an analytical mind, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, strategies and best practices.
  • Experience in implementing sustainable and socially responsible procurement practices.
  • Strong skills in budgeting, cost optimization and negotiation techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Motivate team by inspiring positive communication to work together toward achieving goals.
  • Proficiency in automated procure-to-pay software solutions and tools, i.e. punch-outs, electronic data interchange (EDIs), contract and vendor management.
  • Knowledge of RedRock and Stratton Warren procurement software a plus.
    Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
  • Position requires some travel.
