We have an incredible opportunity for a dynamic, energetic, and eager Purchasing and Warehouse Manager in our Boston location!
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and secure advantageous terms.
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and product availability to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors and service providers to ensure timely and quality deliveries and/or service.
- Collaborate with vendors to identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate favorable terms.
- Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers/vendors promptly and professionally.
- Implement effective inventory control practices to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
- Conduct regular stock assessments, identify slow-moving items, and implement appropriate measures.
- Work closely with other departments to forecast demand and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Oversee the efficient and organized operation of the warehouse.
- Implement and enhance warehouse processes to maximize space utilization and streamline operations.
- Ensure the accuracy of inventory records through regular audits and cycle counts. Upon acquisition of another customer, an increase of current volumes over 25% or other operational expansion; ownership of warehouse management will be discussed with executive management.
- Display and endorse exemplary leadership across all departments and towards clients.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and accountability.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify opportunities for professional development.
- Stay informed about relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- Proficient computer skills (Particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Familiarity with purchasing software preferred.
- Contract and negotiation skills.
- Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) knowledge required.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and with a diverse clientele that requires a hands-on approach to our guests' needs.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks within the given time to meet strict deadlines.
- Three (3) to five (5) years in related purchasing field, knowledge of institutional and contract food and beverage purchasing.
- Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs.
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
