Full Job Description
Public Works & Safety Manager The District of Vanderhoof is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Public Works & Safety Manager to join our leadership team. Reporting to the Director of Public Works & Engineering, the Public Works & Safety Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the operation, maintenance, repair, and regulatory compliance of the District's public works infrastructure and services. The position provides leadership to unionized staff, manages departmental budgets and resources, ensures compliance with occupational health and safety requirements throughout the District, and supports the delivery of safe, efficient, and reliable municipal services. The Public Works Manager is responsible for municipal roads, water distribution and treatment systems, wastewater collection and treatment systems, stormwater infrastructure, airport services, transit services, fleet and equipment maintenance, seasonal operations, and emergency response. This exempt position offers a 2026 salary range of $100,078 to $121,271, based on a 40-hour work week, and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
