This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Readiness and Response, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

As a Public Health Analyst, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:

  1. Coordinating high-level collaborative public health projects with internal and external organizations to integrate program activities and achieve broad agency goals.
  2. Serving as a principal advisor to senior management by analyzing complex public health policies and programs and providing recommendations concerning policies, operations, products, and services.
  3. Preparing directives, memoranda, policy statements, legislative proposals, and briefing materials to support public health program initiatives and effective program operations.
  4. Preparing and presenting comprehensive public health program reviews evaluating program effectiveness and recommending whether programs should be expanded, modified, or curtailed.
  5. Interpreting administrative policies, developing local administrative policies and guidelines for subordinate program activities, defining administrative requirements, and providing advice to management on related matters.

  • Knowledge of organizational, operational, and programmatic concepts and practices applied by public, private, or nonprofit agencies and organizations engaged in public health or other health-related activities.
  • Knowledge of the methods, processes, and techniques used to develop and deliver public health or health-related programs in State and local settings.
  • Knowledge of a specialized public health program.
  • Knowledge of, and skill in, the application of administrative or analytical methods and techniques necessary for working within the framework of a public health or related organization and carrying out specific program functions.
  • Skill in oral and written communications, gathering and conveying information, making oral presentations, and preparing reports, correspondence, and other written materials.


AND

Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:

  • Coordinating high level, collaborative projects with other internal and/or external organizations to meet broad agency goals;
  • Advising senior management on complex public health policies, operations, products, or services;
  • Preparing directives, memoranda, policy statements, or briefing materials for public health program initiatives and operations;
  • Presenting comprehensive public health program reviews concerning program effectiveness.
