SummaryAs a GS-13 Public Affairs Specialist you will be part of the Communications Division, Office of Communications and Legislative Affairs, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. - Provides advice to managers in coordinating, developing, and implementing communication outreach plans and projects.

QualificationsFor the GS-13: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as researching, analyzing and applying established best practices in media relations; working with the media and general public to communicate about an organization's mission and work; developing and executing communication strategies focused at reaching a specific audience; developing communications plans, messaging strategies, best practice guides or tools for training and awareness for employees and managers.

This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with the EEOC. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow the EEOC to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time.
