Blue Ridge Health is currently seeking a Psychiatrist to be part of our Behavioral Health team in Rutherford County. What You'll Do:
The Psychiatrist is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing and treating patients with behavioral health and substance use disorders. Responsibilities include:
- Position is to provide ACTT psychiatric services and oversight for our team that serves Cherokee, Clay and Graham counties.
- Analyze and evaluate patient data and tests or examination findings to diagnose nature and extent of behavioral health disorder.
- Prescribe, direct, and administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat behavioral health, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
- Examine or conduct laboratory or diagnostic tests on patient to provide information on general physical condition and behavioral health disorder.
- Advise and inform guardians, relatives, and significant others of patients' conditions and treatment.
- Design individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments.
- Collaborate with other behavioral health professionals to discuss individual patient treatment plans and progress.
- Maintain patient information and records, including social and medical history obtained from patients, relatives and other professionals.
- Counsel outpatient appointments during office visits.
- Serve on committees to promote and maintain community behavioral health services and delivery systems.
- Act as a Collaborating Provider for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners.
- Responsible for understanding and following the BRCHS-Meridian Performance Improvement Plan and established safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for understanding and participating in all aspects of the BRCHS-Meridian Corporate Compliance Program.

What We're Looking For:
- Medical degree from an accredited University.
- Board certification in psychiatry.
- Five years of clinical practice experience.
- Currently licensed to practice medicine in the State of North Carolina.
