Job Description- The Staff Physician provides direct patient care and emergency services in an effort to ensure that patient health care needs are met at all times.

ResponsibilitiesPatient Care- Provides direct patient care in the office and at other locations, develops treatment plans, and assesses patient's response to treatment while ensuring that all health care services provided are of the highest quality.
- Delivers quality inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services and coordinates with psychiatric nursing units to provide patient care and develop high quality psychiatric health care services.
Quality and Performance Improvement- Strives to promote the quality and efficiency of his/her own performance by remaining current with the latest trends in field of expertise through participation in job-relevant seminars and workshops, attendance at professional conferences, and affiliations with national and state professional organizations.
- Knowledgeable of and complies with applicable federal and state laws and the OLOLRMC Standards of Conduct.
- Responsible for monitoring compliance with such applicable laws by employees for whom there is administrative responsibility.
- Develops high quality health care programs that are congruent with departmental goals and objectives.
- Monitors program performance and identifies ways of improving operational quality and efficiency.
- Ensures the appropriate application of the hospital's mission and philosophy and departmental and hospital policies and procedures in a manner that promotes the provision of high-quality health care services and departmental effectiveness.
- Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings, and training sessions in an effort to share his/her own expertise with others and further the quality of education and personal growth provided to new personnel, volunteers, and interning students.
Collaboration and Partnership- Promotes and maintains harmonious and effective relationships and communications within the department and between the department and other areas.
Other Duties- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications- Completion of an approved psychiatric residency
- MD
- Current unrestricted Louisiana Medical License
- Good interpersonal/human relations skills, good time management/prioritization skills, good oral communication and listening skills required.
