Psychiatrist

Responsibilities - What you'll do

What you'll do:

This is a licensed professional position accountable for:
  • assessment and treatment of mental illnesses
  • provide complete psychiatric services including:
    • assessment
    • diagnosis
    • medical prescription
    • treatment
  • Prescribes, evaluates, and monitors administration of medications
  • Leads interdisciplinary teams in evaluating new patients and writes admission and discharge orders
  • Serves as a consultant to other medical staff
  • Prepares/submits evaluation reports to the courts and testifies in court proceedings

Applicants will be responsible for more elaborate, complex, and precise evaluation and care to severely mentally and/or emotionally ill adults.

Knowledge, skills & abilities
  • Knowledge of professional principles and practices of medicine and psychiatry, and of current theories and practices in the field of mental health
  • Knowledge of medications and their effects on physical and psychological disorders
  • Ability to provide expert witness testimony regarding the status of patients' psychological condition
