Psychiatrist

Position Summary/Responsibilities

The Psychiatrist will have the opportunity to practice in our Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic, Crisis Stabilization Unit or Crisis Receiving Center working with adult patients overseeing the treatment processes and quality of care within an interdisciplinary team.

Hiring Range:

The anticipated base salary for this position is $295,000 min to $345,000. Actual compensation offered within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities), geographic location, complexity of role, and other relevant business considerations. Additional compensation is available for Fellowships, Resident supervision, and Advanced Practice Provider Collaborative Agreements. We kindly ask that candidates do not discuss compensation until after an offer of employment is extended.

Requirements

  • Education: Completion of an accredited medical college curriculum that fulfills academic and residency requirements for licensure as a physician.
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
    • Clinical proficiency and the ability to establish therapeutic relationships with those with severe and persistent mental illness, co-occurring substance disorders, and related disabilities.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills; basic computer/software skills including the aptitude to learn to use voice recognition software.
    • Professional and personal maturity and the ability to function collegially and collaboratively.
    • Knowledge of cultural competency and impact of client's culture on their treatment.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Licensed as a Physician in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Active, unrestricted license required.
  • Background Check: Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry report will be required upon selection.

Special Work Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally in one-on-one situations and in group settings. Must also be able to communicate effectively in writing. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will often sit, stand and walk. The employee frequently lifts and or carries up to 10 pounds and pushes or pulls up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (computer and client medical records). Specific hearing required by this job includes normal tones. These functions may be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
