This role is part of Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE), supporting Blue Origin’s mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. As a Propulsion Engineer, you will be a key member of our dynamic team, dedicated to the design, development, and implementation of on-orbit propulsion systems. Your expertise will directly contribute to the success of our space missions, ensuring the reliability and performance of our reaction control systems (RCS). This role requires a deep understanding of propulsion principles and a hands-on approach to solving complex engineering challenges.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lead the design and analysis of on-orbit propulsion systems, with a focus on reaction control systems (RCS).
• Develop and execute test plans for propulsion components and systems, including performance and environmental testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including avionics, structures, and systems engineering, to ensure seamless integration of propulsion systems.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and operating procedures.
• Support the full lifecycle of the propulsion system, from initial concept through in-orbit operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any anomalies or issues related to the propulsion system.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in the aerospace industry, with a focus on propulsion systems.
• Demonstrated experience with the design, analysis, and testing of on-orbit RCS systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks) and fluid analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and combustion processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Science or Ph.D. in a related engineering discipline.
• Experience with a variety of propellant types, including hypergolic and electric propulsion.
• Hands-on experience with propulsion system testing and data acquisition.
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for spaceflight hardware.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Base Pay Range for:

CA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20 WA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20
