OverviewThe Proposal Writer will be responsible for the entire proposal lifecycle, that includes but not limited to creating, editing, and finalizing high-quality, compliant, and compelling proposal content in response to federal RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs. Working closely with the Business Development team, this role ensures all technical, management, and past performance volumes are persuasive and adhere strictly to solicitation instructions.
Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and edit proposal sections (technical, management, past performance, resumes, etc.) for federal RFPs/RFIs.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to collect inputs and tailor responses.
- Ensure compliance with solicitation requirements, templates, and style guides.
- Participate in color team reviews and incorporate feedback.
- Pipeline Management
- Maintain boilerplate libraries and reusable content repositories.
- Support graphics, formatting, and layout for final submission packages.
- Track opportunities and assist with proposal schedules and deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, or related field.
- 3-5 (three to five) years of experience in proposal writing or technical writing for Federal Government contracts (HHS, DoW, DHA, DHS).
- Detailed understanding of contract vehicles, terms and conditions, success factors, etc.
- Strong understanding of RFP structures and compliance requirements (especially in GovCon or Health IT).
- Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint; familiarity with proposal tools (e.g., GovWin, Awarded AI, or similar) a plus.
- APMP Foundation certification preferred but not required.
The salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $140,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
