DescriptionAs a
Proposal Manager at Impulse Space you will be responsible for ensuring Impulse produces high-quality proposals for submission to competitive business opportunities with a focus on opportunities for US Government programs. While writing proposals is a key element of the role, this role also involves interfacing with a wide range of teams across the company including Engineering, Finance, Legal, Mission Management, and Business Development. You will work alongside other members of the Business Development team to evaluate opportunities, formulate solutions, and communicate proposal strategies to the rest of the company. This is a technical role that involves reading, understanding, and summarizing technical requirements documents as part of the proposal process.
Responsibilities- Act as a primary contributor to writing technical proposals, both as a writer and editor
- Own the proposal process with an eye towards continuous improvement and streamlining of future proposal efforts
- Read, understand, and summarize the complex requirements of new customer opportunities
- Breakdown proposal efforts into tasks and manage process of collecting inputs from technical experts within the company
- Develop and maintain proposal schedules
- Help develop supporting graphics and materials for proposals
- Edit proposals for clarity, accuracy, and readability
- Ensure proposals are compliant with submission rules
- Help maintain repository of frequently used proposal information
- When possible, assist other teams with writing, editing, and communication needs including technical white papers
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in technical field, or related
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in a role as a writer and/or editor
- 2+ years of experience with publishing professional documents
- Ability to communicate technical material clearly and professionally
- Proficiency with planning and managing schedules
Preferred Skills and Experience- Engineering or science degree or a degree in journalism, English, technical writing, or professional writing
- 5+ years' of demonstrated experience with writing government proposals or grants
- Demonstrated technical knowledge related to the Aerospace industry
- Demonstrated ability to manage large writing projects
- Demonstrated experience writing academic papers or technical white papers
- Familiarity with FAR/DFARS
- Expert English language writing skills
- Active TS/SCI clearance
Additional Information:Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.
