The Property Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and general ledger for an assigned portfolio of properties. The ideal candidate possesses advanced Microsoft Excel skills and some real estate experience. The Property Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities - Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts.
- Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable duties.
- Play a key role in the month-end close process, including preparing and posting recurring journal entries, reviewing account activity, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Reconciliation of income statement accounts, selected balance sheet accounts and all related bank accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports as requested.
- Review leases and leasing activity to ensure accurate billing.
- Prepare tenant reconciliations per the terms of the lease.
- Assist with CAM reconciliations, including reviewing recoverable expenses, supporting documentation, and tenant billing adjustments.
- Establish and maintain relationships with tenants and work to resolve disputes related to recoverable expenses.
- Own and support month-end close activities for the Assisted Living Facility, including preparing monthly financials on both an accrual and cash basis.
- Other projects as assigned.
Qualifications - Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products; must be very proficient in Microsoft Excel, including working with formulas, spreadsheets, reconciliations, and reporting.
- 4-6 years' experience in Accounting

- Experience with Skyline property management software or equivalent.
