Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a Project/Task Manager to support customers at the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters as part of the St. Elizabeths Technology Services II (SETS II) program.


Projects will require close coordination with:
• Systems, campus wiring, network/transport, physical security, radio frequency, and audio/visual engineering teams, as well as technicians across these disciplines and a CADD team throughout project initiation, design, and implementation.
• The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team to ensure smooth transition of projects upon completion.
• Government, construction, and design stakeholders across the full project lifecycle.

The Project Manager will lead and/or assist with:
• Developing estimates, project schedules, work breakdown structures, and technical engineering installation packages using MS Project, Excel, and Word.
• Meeting with customers to define technical solution requirements.
• Monitoring and controlling project labor and material budgets and comparing actuals to approved estimates.
• Supporting project procurement activities, including collaboration with remote logistics and procurement teams.
• Coordinating resource allocation with Engineering and Technician Leads to ensure tasks are completed and time charging is accurate.
• Maintaining current project status reporting and providing updates to Government stakeholders.
• Directing project activities to meet client and organizational objectives and serving as a liaison to resolve issues and answer stakeholder questions.
• Ensuring quality of program products, services, and deliverables, including participating in engineering deliverable reviews and site visits.
• Attending weekly internal engineering and/or construction meetings, managing action items, and ensuring timely follow‑up.
• Partnering with field supervisors to resolve issues related to technician installation activities.
• Ensuring adherence to program engineering and project management processes and procedures.
• Closing projects by submitting test documentation and narratives, presenting test results for formal approval, and reviewing/transitioning final as‑built documentation to the Operations team.


Knowledge, Skills, and Education:
• 2–5+ years of experience managing or supporting technical projects, design/build efforts, or systems modernization initiatives (e.g., network, physical security systems).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, or work experience.
• Background in technology systems with the ability to understand complex technical solutions preferred.
• Experience reviewing technical engineering designs is a plus.
• Ability to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders including senior leaders, engineers, SMEs, construction teams, and design teams.
• Ability to capture customer requirements and translate them into clear documentation for engineering and CADD teams.
• Ability to identify and communicate risks or impacts to budget, timeline, or scope.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality deliverables such as design documentation, estimates, and transition materials.
• Ability to collaborate with other Project Managers to balance multiple tasks and priorities within limited resource constraints.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Project, Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
• Ability to work independently and under guidance from Program Management and Engineering leadership.
• PMP certification is a plus.


Clearance Requirements:
• Top Secret clearance desired.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DHS Entry on Duty (EOD) clearance.

Work Location:

Must be able to work onsite in Washington, DC.

 

The likely salary range for this position is $110,500 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
