Project Superintendent - Commercial Construction

Work Arrangement: Onsite / Field-Based

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to lead field operations for complex commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for jobsite safety, scheduling, quality control, subcontractor coordination, site logistics, and workforce management while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to project specifications.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on field leader with strong scheduling, subcontractor management, and problem-solving experience who can take ownership of projects from mobilization through completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily field operations, subcontractors, and onsite personnel
  • Develop and manage project schedules and four-week look-ahead schedules
  • Coordinate construction sequencing, trades, site logistics, and field activities
  • Monitor project milestones and develop schedule recovery plans when necessary
  • Enforce jobsite safety requirements, quality standards, and applicable building codes
  • Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and design documents for constructability
  • Manage field labor and project resources in a cost-effective manner
  • Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and communicate project expectations
  • Identify and resolve field conflicts, design issues, and construction challenges
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, progress documentation, and project records
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, design teams, owners, inspectors, and subcontractors

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant commercial construction experience
  • Experience managing project schedules and coordinating multiple trades
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, safety, and quality control
  • Experience with commercial, multi-family, mixed-use, or similar construction projects
  • Working knowledge of all phases of construction, including multi-story projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing industrial construction projects ranging from 50,000 to 500,000 square feet
  • Experience with Primavera P6, Oracle Primavera Cloud, Phoenix, SureTrak, P3, or similar scheduling software
  • Experience managing complex commercial or industrial projects from mobilization through completion
  • Strong constructability review and schedule recovery experience

Candidate Must-Haves
  • 7+ years of commercial construction experience
  • Proven experience leading onsite field operations and subcontractors
  • Experience managing schedules and four-week look-ahead planning
  • Strong commercial, multi-family, mixed-use, or industrial construction background
  • Ability to effectively coordinate multiple trades while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule requirements
  • Ability to work in an active construction environment and meet the physical requirements of the position
