Job Summary

The Project / Service Order Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of physical infrastructure improvements at Insight Hospital & Medical Center. Reporting to the Director of Facilities, this position oversees all hospital capital projects, including complex renovations, critical infrastructure repairs, equipment replacements, and new construction. The Project Manager ensures all work is completed with minimal disruption to patient care while maintaining strict adherence to healthcare safety codes.

Key Responsibilities
• Project Oversight: Lead and manage all hospital projects from inception to completion, including interior renovations, structural repairs, and new facility expansions.
• Engineering Infrastructure: Oversee the replacement and upgrade of major building systems (HVAC, medical gas, electrical substations, and plumbing) to ensure long-term hospital resilience.
• Vendor & Contractor Management: Act as the primary point of contact for architects, engineers, and general contractors. Manage bidding processes, contract negotiations, and onsite contractor safety compliance.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Director and Assistant Director to develop project timelines, mitigate operational risks, and ensure projects align with the hospital's master facility plan.
• Regulatory & Safety Compliance: Ensure all construction activities follow Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) and Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) protocols to protect patients and staff.
• Budgeting & Financial Tracking: Monitor project expenditures, approve change orders, and provide regular financial reporting to leadership.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, including blueprints, O&M manuals, permits, and close-out documents for Joint Commission and IDPH audits.

Qualifications & Requirements
• Experience: 5+ years of project management experience, specifically within a healthcare or clinical engineering environment.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil), Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of hospital building systems and the unique requirements of "active environment" construction (ICRA/ILSM).
