- Be responsible for maintaining Terracon's established quality standards on all projects.
- Senior scientific professional responsible for quality control and assurance of data gathering procedures and data analysis.
- Serve as a company subject matter expert for wetland delineation and permitting projects.
- Conduct pre-mobilization planning meetings with field staff to ensure all participants execute tasks safely and in accordance with Terracon's rules and practices.
- Plan and staff field studies related to wetland and WOTUS delineation, and stream assessments.
- Conduct wetland and WOTUS delineations and prepare concise and accurate reports and permit applications
- Analyze and synthesize data from sampling, reports, maps, drawings, and aerial photographs to evaluate, plan and permit projects.
- Draft scopes, schedules and budgets for medium to complex project proposals.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with Terracon leadership, staff and Clients regarding technical and procedural issues.
- Additional responsibilities may include assisting with NEPA studies and reporting and conducting wildlife studies (such as habitat assessments) and permitting.
- This role will require field work and may include overnight travel.
QualificationsRequirements:- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Biology, Ecology, Geography, Geology or related natural science field and a minimum of 8 years of related work experience.
- Experience delineating wetlands/WOTUS and USACE permitting in Nebraska and in the Midwest region.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification/Experience:- Wetland Delineation utilizing U.S. Army Corps of Engineers methods and regional supplement guidelines
- Professional Wetland Scientist or Wetland Professional in Training
- Minimum of 4 years of field experience with wetland delineations, stream assessments, habitat and species assessments
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience with permitting pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of CWA (Section 401/404), ESA (Sections 7 and 10) and NHPA (Section 106) NHPA consultations
