Position Overview:

Join Siemens Mobility at an exciting time of growth as we expand our Customer Service team in Chicago, IL! As a Project Reliability Manager, you will be at the center of driving fleet performance, improving reliability, and supporting smart maintenance strategies across Siemens electric and diesel-powered locomotives, light rail vehicles, and streetcars. This is a high-impact opportunity to turn data into action-partnering with reliability, service, and depot teams to uncover failure trends, solve complex challenges, and deliver corrective actions that help keep our customers' fleets running safely, efficiently, and reliably.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Strategic & Financial Risk Mitigation
    Define strategic KPI frameworks (e.g., MDBF, MMBD) and prioritize systemic fleet issues to align performance with Siemens' contractual obligations, directly safeguarding fleet reliability and contract profitability.
  • Cross-Functional Governance & Corrective Action (FRACAS)
    Steer cross-functional accountability (collaborating with Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Operations) to ensure corrective actions (FRACAS) are prioritized, resourced, and executed efficiently.
  • Team Leadership & People Development
    Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Project Reliability Managers, optimizing resource allocation and fostering a collaborative culture of technical excellence.
  • Executive & Customer Stakeholder Relations
    Represent the reliability organization in high-level alignments with senior customers and Siemens executive leadership, translating complex reliability trends into clear, actionable strategic insights.
  • Data Governance & Analytical Standards
    Govern fleet failure tracking standards and database integrity, guiding the team on advanced reliability methodologies (such as Weibull analysis) to ensure accurate failure categorization.

To thrive in this role, you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in reliability, manufacturing, and/or mechanical engineering.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience creating reports or dashboards using tools such as Spotfire, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Strong communication, listening, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage timelines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and work with changing priorities.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

The pay range for this position is $112,200.00 - $131,886.00 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
