A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview) The Project Procurement Professional is the procurement lead in the project execution phase for Large Rotating Equipment (LRE) and represents the procurement function to the project organization and the customer in the Americas Region.
The role manages the project budget, introduces sourcing strategies, and completes site support purchases to contribute to the success of the project and operative results.
The PPM must also champion the project needs within the procurement department to ensure the buyers are working towards the project goals.
The PPM reports directly to the Procurement Manager.
How You'll Make an Impact (responsibilities) - Analyze scope of supply, contractual obligations, and customer project needs while identifying procurement risks and opportunities.
- Incorporate changes in supplier contracts to mitigate non-conformances and claims, ensuring smooth project execution.
- Expedite orders, resolve delivery or quality issues, and serve as a liaison between suppliers and the project organization.
- Develop RFQs, identify new supply sources, and follow up on non-conformance costs with buyers and suppliers.
- Maintain project plans, update purchasing systems, and ensure transparency on resource availability with early deviation alerts.
- Collaborate with Project Management and procurement functions to resolve technical or administrative issues and provide qualified reports on project progress, expediting, and supplier performance.
What You Bring (requirements) - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field
- 5+ years of successful experience in purchasing, project management, or similar role managing complex objectives in a matrix organization
- Applies broad knowledge of specialization to complete moderately complex assignments, utilizing fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Understands the organization's business practices and challenges, demonstrating the ability to work independently with an organized and disciplined approach.
- Excels in communication, collaboration, and adapting to a dynamic work environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically or internationally.
