Position Summary

Thales has a vacancy for a P-6 Project Planner/Scheduler will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of engineering changes and their implementation across the Arctic Offshore Patrol Ships & Joint Support Ships (AJISS) Program. Reporting into the Planning Group Lead and forming part of the PMO, you will develop and maintain integrated schedules that enable predictable delivery, effective change control and informed decision-making.

Key Areas of Responsibility

This role is well suited to a planner who is comfortable working closely with engineering, configuration management and project leadership to manage complex change activities.

The main duties of the Project Planner include:

Developing and maintaining detailed integrated project schedules, principally for engineering changes.
Translating engineering scope into structured WBS, activities, logic and milestones.
Facilitating planning workshops with engineering, project and functional stakeholders.
Establishing and maintaining schedule baselines and supporting formal change control.
Performing schedule quality checks (logic integrity, float analysis, constraints, critical path).
Tracking progress, forecast completion and analyzing schedule variance and impacts.
Identifying schedule risks related to design and implementation activities.
Conforming to PMO-standard reporting: milestone status, critical path, lookahead plans and management dashboards.
Supporting the established business delivery rhythm through timely updates and accurate forecasting.
Aligning schedule with cost/resource inputs (where applicable) and supporting integrated performance reporting.
Contributing to continuous improvement of PMO planning standards, templates and governance.

Minimum Qualifications

Undergraduate qualifications OR training in Business, Engineering or Project Management.
Minimum 4 + Years of experience in planning roles, preferably in a multi-disciplined engineering environment.
Strong understanding of planning best practices.
Demonstrated communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Competent user of Primavera P6.
Experience with Earned Value principles, systems and techniques.
Experience with Schedule Risk Analysis is considered beneficial.
Advanced MS Excel skills and general data analysis competencies; familiarity with Power Query or BI tools is beneficial.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge and understanding of the Defense Sector.
Experience across the In-Service Support phases of a project lifecycle.
Experience working in a complex, multidisciplinary, multi-site organization.
PMI-SP, PMP, PRINCE2, or similar credentials.


Special Position Requirements

Type of Role: Hybrid (Home/Office) 6 flexibility to work from home for up to two days per week but expected to be in office at least three days per week.

Schedule: 40 hours per week.
Physical Environment: Office.
Travel: As required primarily within Canada.

The reference Total Target Compensation(TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between Total Target Cash 100,000.00 - 125,000 CDN Annual.
