Job DescriptionBAE Systems has an immediate need for a highly qualified Project Manager who will oversee our Program Management Office (PMO), primarily focusing on program controls, to help us effectively execute the activities within our prime role supporting the US Navy's, AEGIS Technical Representative (TECHREP) program. AEGIS TECHREP provides on-site direction, oversight, and support that validates the total AEGIS weapon and combat system design. Through over 40 years of continuous AEGIS TECHREP support, BAE Systems has grown in technical expertise, capability, and effectiveness. As a trusted partner, BAE Systems brings tailored Project Management Body of Knowledge best practices and an experienced Program Manager (PM) with many years of experience managing large complex programs. This ensures that AEGIS TECHREP remains the pre-eminent technical authority providing comprehensive engineering rigor and oversight of AEGIS Combat System (ACS) and AEGIS Weapon System (AWS) development. The candidate will oversee the PMO and its functions, with specific attention to fiscal year budget planning, Government allocation tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary engineering team and will have full authority to lead planning activities within the programmatic guidelines set by the program manager and customer. Additionally, you will analyze existing tools, and/or build new tools to analyze data to help the leadership team, as well as Government customers, manage our projects.
Key Roles, Accountabilities and Duties:
- Programmatic focal point for all activity within the projects including strategic planning, engineering staffing, issue reporting, and risk and opportunity management.
- Partner with program managers, functional engineering managers, and factories to ensure program goals, requirements, and needs are understood and achieved.
- Monitor project plans and execution to ensure technical and work scope requirements, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.
- Ensure engineering efforts are planned and executed in accordance with company policies, procedures, processes, and best practices.
- Provide the coordination between the engineering team and functional managers to ensure all necessary reviews are conducted and approvals are received.
- Collaborate with government points of contact to define strategic direction and requirements, ensuring seamless integration into program Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and established financial frameworks.
The ability to communicate, coordinate, collaborate, and lead in a visible and proactive manner is an imperative aspect of the role, and will be evaluated equally alongside specific, applied experiences. Experience with resource allocation processes is required. The ideal candidate will be highly engaging, team-oriented, customer-focused, and able to respond rapidly to a dynamic programmatic environment.
Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related degree / equivalent experience
- Prior Program Controls experience working with various contract types
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel and Power BI.
- Experience implementing Earned Value Management processes
- Analytical, and strategic problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse work teams
- Active Secret clearance
