Black & Veatch has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager focused on water and wastewater projects and programs in Tulsa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead major projects or programs from planning through construction. Present updates to external client stakeholders and support decision-making. Provide oversight of the program schedule and budget using Black & Veatch's internal processes and manage large inter-discipline teams of internal and subconsultant resources.
  • Lead a Team that provides technical solutions and differentiation focused on water supply intakes, pump stations, large-diameter pipelines, tunnels, wastewater lift stations, force mains, and collections system, including condition assessment and rehabilitation.
  • Provide recommendations on client's processes, organization, and readiness to embark on major programs and alternative project delivery.
  • Support the team's use of risk-based assessments to develop and prioritize capital improvement programs.
  • Provide project execution, quality control, and technical leadership to support large water and wastewater projects and programs and to identify innovative solutions to maximize benefits to municipalities and utilities.
  • Lead and provide technical expertise to support marketing and business development.
  • Support pursuit, proposal, and project interview activities.
  • Work closely with Client Directors and the Area Director to develop relationships with clients and decision makers in Tulsa
  • Help mentor professionals and grow the Team by identifying high quality candidate and recruits.

Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by project.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Oklahoma
  • 15+ years of relevant water engineering experience including but not limited to water and wastewater infrastructure planning, asset management, CIP optimization, detailed design, and construction
  • Experience managing large water and wastewater programs and projects
  • Knowledge of local, federal and state permitting requirements and funding mechanisms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfort in a client-facing role discussing technical topics and solutions
  • Experience providing input and oversight of technical tasks and project teams performing studies and assessments of water and wastewater projects
  • Proficient with report writing and PowerPoint presentations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently
  • Willing and able to travel to project sites and client meetings as needed


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
