Position Summary

The Project Manager - Genesis Project is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the Genesis strategic initiative from concept through implementation. This role serves as the central point of accountability for project governance, ensuring alignment across Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, IT, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and executive leadership.

The Project Manager will establish project plans, monitor progress, manage risks and dependencies, facilitate decision-making, and ensure project milestones are achieved on schedule and within budget. This individual will drive cross-functional collaboration, maintain executive visibility, and support successful implementation of one of the organization's highest-priority strategic initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Leadership
  • Lead the day-to-day execution of the Genesis Project from planning through implementation and project closeout.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, and success metrics.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address schedule, resource, and budget variances.
  • Manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies while developing mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate project governance and ensure adherence to established methodologies and reporting standards.
  • Coordinate project activities across multiple workstreams while maintaining alignment with overall business objectives.

Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Serve as the primary liaison among project stakeholders.

  • Ensure clear ownership and accountability for project deliverables.

Executive Communication
  • Prepare executive-level dashboards and project status reports.
  • Present project updates, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Escalate critical issues requiring executive decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, action logs, and meeting minutes.
  • Communicate project progress to stakeholders throughout the organization.

Budget & Resource Management
  • Assist in developing and managing project budgets.
  • Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets.
  • Coordinate internal and external project resources.
  • Identify resource constraints and recommend solutions.
  • Track vendor deliverables and contractual commitments.

Change Management
  • Support organizational readiness for Genesis implementation.
  • Coordinate communication plans and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Manage project change requests and scope modifications.
  • Assist with training coordination and implementation planning.
  • Promote adoption of new processes and technologies resulting from the project.

Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve project execution and governance.
  • Document lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop standardized project documentation and reporting tools.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance future strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, Operations, or a related field.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.
  • Agile, Lean, or Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Experience
  • 5-8 years of progressive project management experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience managing enterprise-wide strategic projects.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Experience with project budgeting, scheduling, and executive reporting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong project planning and organizational skills.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Asana, or similar project management tools.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and accountability.
