Full Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the management of the scope, estimate, and project management oversight of pump, motor, gearbox and other ancillary equipment projects. Will potentially be responsible for multiple small projects at the same time
  • Responsible for the management and completion of projects to budget, schedule and quality.
  • Achieve organizational objectives by completing projects on time and to budget to meet customer demands.
  • Engage in Proposal Review meetings on large projects to ensure that there are no gaps or risks and that project profitability is appropriately tested.
  • Review Purchase Order and verify technical compliance with quotation, client engineering specifications and list of exceptions as described in proposal.
  • Responsible for the Creation and management of a comprehensive budget.
  • Organize and lead internal (with Sales) and external (with Customer) kickoff meetings.
  • Create and maintain milestone schedules.
  • Manage Customer Expectations - Inform and interact with Customer as the project requires.
  • Manage the Change Order process.
  • Interact with Subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate completion of external work, either at Subcontractor site, or Customer site.
  • Organize quality tests and quality assurance.
  • Organize Factory Assurance Tests.
  • Work with Lead Design, Supply Chain management and Manufacturing Shop to:
    • Organize the creation of drawings with the Lead Designer or,
    • Analyze Customer drawings with the Lead Designer
    • Hand over IFC drawing package to Supply Chain for material order - project completion
  • Interact with the Supply Chain and Manufacturing to ensure timely and accurate completion of the projects
  • Close the project in accordance to Puffer-Sweiven accounting rules and project close-out process
  • Appropriately involve Inside and Outside Sales in decision processes to ensure Customer satisfaction and encourage repeat businesses.
  • Contribute to work processes to ensure continuous improvements of these processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Knowledge:
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field of study and/or equivalent years of education and experience in project management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) a plus.
  • Knowledge of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps preferred. Knowledge and experience with Variable Frequency drives desirable.

Experience/Skills:
  • 2-3 years direct experience with the design, specification, and fabrication of pump skid packages preferred.
  • Familiarity of Fabrication and Welding functions preferred.
  • 2+ years Project Management experience, including proficiencies in project execution standards and strategies.
  • Proven track record with customers in managing projects.
  • Proficient in use of common computer software programs: Microsoft Office, Visio and Project primarily.
