Project Manager, Professional Services

We are looking for talented, enthusiastic, and career-minded individuals to join our Professional Services PMO organization where you will have the opportunity to lead consulting services projects while working with a well-established and growing number of companies in a range of industries. From Aerospace & Defense to High Tech to Industrial Products and even Footwear & Apparel, PTC's customer base is as far reaching as the products you use every day. As a member of the Global PMO team, you lead clients to value with PTC solutions, lead project teams, and drive the agenda for project execution, and manage all financial, schedule, quality, and resource management aspects of projects.

Project Management Principal Duties
  • Lead and manage multiple projects to ensure the realization of value, quality, and on-time delivery of defined scope.
  • Lead a full project lifecycle leveraging either the traditional PMI Process or Scrum/Agile approach.
  • Work as a liaison within the Global Services organization, and interface with the R&D, Service Lifecycle Management Segment, Technical Support, Workforce Management, and all extended organizations to ensure that proper scope, resource pools and key dependencies are being defined and developed.
  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones and required tasks, providing early visibility to schedules/milestones that are at risk.
  • Build detailed project plan and schedule for products across all processes, independently managing day-day operational tactical aspects of multiple projects.
  • Coordinate and facilitate communications with management and across teams.
  • Maintain product knowledge to increase efficiency in delivery of products.
  • Organize and lead business requirements and design sessions with key stakeholders and technology team. Works in conjunction with customers to analyze, design and develop requirements.
  • Own contractual documents and manage contract changes.
  • Jointly work with partners and support partner projects as needed.
  • Maintain active engagement with existing customer base to ensure retention.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to delivery team and customer team.
  • Operates and participates in customer steering committees


Client Leadership and Engagement
  • Plan, direct and lead project activities to ensure PTC's technology solutions transform the way PTC clients create and service their products
  • Define, align and document client vision and strategies (Roadmaps), and define joint program(PTC-client) organizations; to include governance model involving executives from both PTC and the client
  • Identify new business opportunities within the client and provide to the business development team
  • Generate project growth within the current project by expanding the scope of the current project or defining and developing the next step of the Client Roadmap.
  • Own the financials of their project to include cost, revenue, margin and investment.
  • Provide a multi-quarter forecast reflecting the revenue, margin and cost of the current project.
  • Work closely with Sales and business development to craft comprehensive account plans, strategies and financial models

Health and growth of PTC's services business
  • Manages an effective and profitable business engagement with potential for growth.
  • Responsible for delivering client satisfaction leading to long-term client relationships and growth.
  • Manages all business forecasting including, revenue, margin, free-work, bookings, and Estimate-at-Completion on a weekly basis.
  • Owns and drives all escalation of technical, resource, and strategic issues across the client and internal PTC ecosystem.
  • Ensure strategic initiatives are prioritized and delivered successfully.
  • Implement Portfolio management and good practice.
  • Provides oversight of key projects ensuring consistency of approach.
  • Mentors and coaches as necessary to delivery team members.
  • Provides enterprise-wide best practice approaches such has governance, resourcing, risk management, and planning.


Experience with some of these selected areas would be a distinct advantage:
  • Knowledge of and experience with industry-specific processes in Aerospace and Defense, Medical Device, High-tech Electronics, or Heavy Equipment manufacture
  • Knowledge of and experience with after-market service and supply-chain operation
  • Experience with Service Lifecycle Management (Service Parts Planning, Field Services) solution implementation.
  • Experience with Cloud-based, Software as a Service offerings.
  • Demonstrated experience working in heavily regulated industries and environments
  • Experience with Certinia
  • PMP Certification


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 - 6 years of Project Management experience


Availability for 25% of onsite travel to customer sites within the America's.

PTC carefully considers a wide variety of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $120,000 - $140,000. The salary range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a performance-based bonus. Employees also have the opportunity to become a PTC shareholder through our employee share purchase program (ESPP), which allows for the purchase of discounted PTC stock. Certain roles may also be eligible for participation in our equity programs.
