Full Job Description
Cloud Upgrades, Senior Engineer

Location: Remote, USA

Cloud Services Upgrades team is chartered to execute upgrades of PTC Products hosted on cloud. To keep up with the upgrades of Cloud hosted PLM Customers, PTC Cloud Upgrade team is looking for a PLM Upgrades Senior Engineer that will manage and help execute the PLM Upgrade projects. If you are highly organized, self-motivated, action-oriented and enjoy interacting and communicating with people at all levels, we want to speak with you about a position within our high performing Cloud team.

The person in this role will report to the Cloud Operations Director and is responsible for driving hands on execution of the upgrades of PLM Products hosted in Cloud. Desired outcomes include managing different phases of the PLM upgrade projects, from request phase till hypercare, motivating fellow project members inside and outside the cloud organization, while ensuring on time and quality delivery. This person will work closely with multiple global teams comprised of Cloud Infrastructure, Cloud Applications, Cloud Database and fellow PLM Upgrade Engineers to ensure on time and quality delivery of the PLM upgrade projects

In this role, you will be responsible for hands-on execution of Upgrades, analyzing client requirements; designing, building, testing, documenting, supporting and ensuring quality Implementation and Education Content deliverables for the projects assigned to the PLM Upgrade team. The deliverables will be produced based on the specific PLM Upgrades Processes and tools.

Day-To-Day:
While you will report to Cloud Operations Director, your day-to-day project work will be managed by the Cloud Upgrades Project Manager, you will be working on creating deliverables for Upgrade projects related activities. As a contributor to hands-on execution, design, development, testing, documenting, supporting upgrades of PTC Solution(s) for specific project needs, you will provide feedback to improve PTC products and services including: PTC software functionality performance, implementation methodology and service offerings, and evaluation of education content.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in a technical field (IT, CS, Programming, etc.) + 3 years of technical work experience.
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Must be a US Citizen and have or be able to obtain a secret government clearance


Preferred Skills:
  • Deep knowledge with PTC PLM Windchill Product Suit - Especially around the Technical Upgrade Process
  • Proficiency with Windows and Linux OS
  • Strong motivation to learn new technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Basic networking experience
  • Knowledge of bash scripting
  • Ability to maintain and implement effective application software on multiple technical platforms using one or more families of languages: Java SE, JavaScript, web services (REST, XML, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Single Sign on technologies like Ping Federate and shibboleth
  • Knowledge of Database technologies, Oracle and Postgres
  • Basic Project Management Capabilities


Compensation (CIP)
PTC carefully considers a wide variety of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $75,000-86,000. The salary range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a performance-based bonus. Employees also have the opportunity to become a PTC shareholder through our employee share purchase program (ESPP), which allows for the purchase of discounted PTC stock. Certain roles may also be eligible for participation in our equity programs.
