Full Job Description
Job Responsibilities:

The Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution and monitoring of finance transformation projects within Global Business Services. This role requires a strong project management and collaboration skillset to be able to work on business projects together with our cross-functional groups ensuring consistency with the Magna Global Business Services strategy, commitments and goals.

Major Responsibilities

  • Planning and executing implementation of multiple business projects or strategic initiatives within the Global Business Services.
  • Manage project scope, budget and timelines to meet defined project goals and deliverables.
  • Provide support in developing and maintaining full scale project plans as well as evaluations and assessments of project performance against benchmark
  • Coordinate with various project stream leads in gathering and documenting business functional and technical requirements together with functional teams / business units.
  • Lead various workshop and huddle meetings with the project stream leads, functional teams and business units to review project status, key risks/issues and associated mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain Risk log by documenting potential risks identified through project progress review
  • Identify, document and manage project change requests in compliance with change requests management process
  • Provide project management support to project leads in monitoring and controlling the execution of project tasks to ensure deadlines are met on time


Knowledge and Education
  • Project management professional (PMP) designation, CAPM, PMP or equivalent certification is an asset.
  • Project experience of supporting large data set migration from legacy systems using Data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes is an asset
  • Smartsheet, Asana, MS Project experience is an advantage.
  • Understanding data governance principles and compliance regulations is an asset
  • Project experience based on technologies like MS SQL based web applications, MS Azure, MS PowerBI is an asset.
  • Project experience of large data set migration using Data ETL (Extraction, Transformation and Load) process is an asset
  • Project experience of implementing a Payroll / Time and Attendance system is an asset.


Work Experience
  • Completion of a degree in Computer Science or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years' progressive experience planning and implementing IT projects with cross-functional stakeholders from IT and business groups.
  • Knowledge of the theories, principles and practices of project management and organizational change management.
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, methodology development and application evaluation.
  • Project management and supervisory principles and practices to supervise project staff and coordinate multiple complex projects under pressure to meet schedule and budget commitments.
  • Basic Understanding of IT Infrastructure, network, databases, web applications.
