Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, management, and completion of IT projects scope on a wide variety of business units and programs. Under Direction from the IT Governance Manager, works with internal customers and business owners to develop project scope of work documents and project plans that include an analysis of benefit, cost, work schedule and any related risks

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

  • Defines the responsibilities of parties involved in the project including internal customers/business owners, IT, project team, vendors, and others affected by the project.
  • Identifies the technical approach to be used on a given IT project and manage the system development process including system analysis, technical design, testing, and acceptance of the project.
  • Assigns, schedules, reviews, and monitors the project work to ensure that project is within expected guidelines, within compliance with financial regulations, and is completed on time and within budget.
  • Develops IT system review schedules, audits, and acceptance tests for each phase of the project (Initiation, Plan, Execute and Closure).
  • Organizes and conducts project team meetings to maintain effective communication and working relationships with internal customers/business owners and project team members.
  • Identifies and documents opportunities to integrate IT systems and resources to fulfill project requirements.
  • Prepares and presents updates of the projects; oral and/or written technical reports and project presentations.
  • Helps to ensure project goals are aligned with the strategic plans of the department and the bank.
  • Works with internal customers/business owners to identify and coordinate new IT systems developments and/or enhancements.

Education/Experience:

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field of study such as Information Systems or Business and
  • Five (5) years of experience directly related to IT, Financial Systems or Project Management
  • Combination of education and experience will be considered.
  •  

    Soft Skills

  • Must have a strong background in bank operations, industry practices and business application systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a remote work environment with limited supervision while adhering to deadlines.
  • Must be able to manage multiple and concurrent cross functional project(s) from conception through completion.
  • Must be capable of leading cross-functional teams.
  • Must possess excellent analytical abilities to effectively manage project plan deadlines, cost, and quality of output, while remaining in compliance with all governing policies and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint for project presentations.
  • Strong communication skills are required to effectively oversee and guide groups.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with a wide range of employees, from technicians to members of senior management.
  •  

    Preferences

    • Strong familiarity of the banking regulatory environment preferred.

     

    Licenses/Certifications

    • PMI or related Project Management certification is preferred.
