OverviewExperienced Project Managers oversee the design and construction of energy infrastructure, transmission, and distribution projects. This role requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a presence as the primary point of contact for the client project manager. Works with team to secure, manage, and deliver projects from new and existing clients. Candidates are expected to demonstrate leadership experience, understanding of engineering concepts applicable to the job area, and client fields. Experience in public utility design and construction, as well as experience with business management are desired. The role includes leading teams to ensure project needs are met, specifically, deliverables, schedules, and budgets, while providing exceptional customer service. Another key responsibility is business development.
Responsibilities
- Develops and manages scope, schedule, and budget of individual projects
- Works with matrixed team to provide tasks and deliverables on time
- Provides clear direction of next steps when needed to design team
- Monitors KPI’s, critical path, issues management, etc.
- Provides project analysis and metrics for individual projects
- Primary point of contact for internal peers
- Primary point of contact for client’s internal work teams
- Manages construction, procurement, invoice preparation, and project documentation
- Continuously build and maintain a network of third-party consultants and vendors
- Lead project acquisition efforts including identifying opportunities and working collaboratively with Marketing team in preparing bids and interviews for jobs
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of client and industry standards related to design and construction
- Lead numerous individuals and project teams by leveraging technology and project management tools for communication and coordination
- Provide technical support and observation services during construction Develop and monitor project organizational and administrative systems
Qualifications
- Valid CA driver’s license
- PMP Certification
- PE License for Transmission specialists
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or other relevant field, or equivalent training and experience
- Master’s degree in Business Management or equivalent experience
- At least 10 years of experience in project management
- Strong skills in MS Office
- Positive attitude, ability to work collaboratively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project and Primavera P6
- Experience in public utility design and construction, natural gas pipelines, water/sewer infrastructure, or electric distribution overhead and underground infrastructure
Desired Qualifications:
- PE License and PMP for SPACE specialists
- Master’s degree in Engineering or related science, Business, or Organizational Management
- Working knowledge of client and industry design and construction standards desiredMetrics:

- Attends in-house seminars and external educational opportunities
The pay range for this California position is $77.00- $82.00 per hour; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162.
