DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a
Project Management based out at Merritt Island.
The Item Manager (IM) is responsible for overseeing and managing Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Launcher material in support of ongoing program execution. This role tracks the operational aspects of assigned efforts, serves as a liaison between project management, planning, the project team, and line management, and supports additional program tasks as assigned. The IM reviews project status (including cost, schedule, and performance), prepares routine and ad hoc status reports, identifies issues and risks, and works with stakeholders to develop resolutions that meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction objectives. The IM develops and maintains mechanisms for monitoring progress, enabling timely intervention, and supporting problem solving with project managers, line managers, and customers.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree with 2 years of professional work experience; or a Masters degree.
- Experience using Microsoft office suite.
- Ability to develop tracking mechanisms (dashboards/spreadsheets/tools) to monitor progress, action items, and deliverables.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance.
- US citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting material management / logistics activities on a production or sustainment program.
- Experience supporting government programs and/or FBM Launcher-related efforts.
- Experience with issue/risk tracking and mitigation planning in support of program objectives.
- Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders (e.g., program, planning, operations) to track work status and drive closure.
- Experience preparing status reports and communicating cost/schedule/issue status to leadership and teams.
Primary Level Salary Range: $65,500.00 - $98,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
