Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager will oversee and coordinate all phases of project lifecycle within the organization for medium-to-large complex projects. This includes leading project teams, managing resources effectively, mitigating risks, and ensuring projects are delivered punctually, within defined scope, and adhering to allocated budgets. The role also entails strategic planning to align projects with organizational objectives, diligent stakeholder management, and a commitment to continuously enhancing project management methodologies for optimal efficiency and outcomes. Works independently with general supervision and receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.
Essential Functions
Plans out the delivery for medium-high sized projects of medium-high complexity to realize the business case beginning with the requirements definition and continuing through development, test, and final delivery. Demonstrates excellent written/verbal communication, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Builds strong relationships with NiSource technology partners, and Vendor Service Providers. Leads project management processes to facilitate contract negotiation, statement of work development, vendor progress management, and vendor relationship management. Demonstrates a strong understanding of core project management activities for risk, issue, decision management, dependency management, status reporting, demand, budgeting, forecasting, variance explanations and capacity management. Facilitates collaboration across multiple functions, departments, and levels and serve as a role model for teamwork. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to create/present effective project presentations and communicate technical concepts to non-technical clients. Demonstrates strong knowledge and expertise in the use of project management and SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Iterative and Agile) and tools (ServiceNow, PowerBI and Jira). Contributes to the development of clear and concise documentation to identify processes, problems, and action plans as well as design attractive and simple sketches, charts, diagrams, and other illustrative material to facilitate communication of complicated topics Contributes to the relationship between customer, other customer IT environment providers, and service provider personnel Contribute to the creation of proposals and project estimates and conduct project quality reviews. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications For Position
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related field, or equivalent experience 3-5+ years of project management experience 3-5+ years of overall work experience 2+ years managing medium complex projects Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of business applications Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management and SDLC methodologies and tools. Medium Agile process experience for application implementation. Medium Advanced understanding of IT Enterprise technologies. Medium Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Medium Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills. Medium Strong verbal and written communication skills. Medium Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to make effective presentations and communicate technical concepts to non-technical clients. Salary Range*:
$96,600.00 - $144,900.00
*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
